About Me

Giles
Giles: 1. Saint, 8th century a.d., Athenian hermit. 2. a male given name: from a Greek word meaning “shieldbearer.” 3. Me. Grew up in Yorkshire, distinctly English but unequivocally Roman with a leaning to the Greek. Just not entirely sure if human. It is not that I am marching to the wrong drum, just that I am hearing a different beat. So here you come to glimpse my world of words. I believe words are perhaps the most powerful magic we possess. Words can lift us, darken us, educate and enlighten, take us to new worlds and remind us of familiar ones. Words can be friends, they can be villains. Undoubtedly, words serve best of all when they guide and support us on our journey. Welcome. I trust you will enjoy.
